Anika Noni Rose is an American actress as well as a singer. She is best known for her role as Tiana Disney's first princess of African descent In The Princess and the Frog. Disney Legend was bestowed upon her in the year 2011. Rose played Lorrell Robinson in the Oscar-winning film Dreamgirls. Anika Noni Rose (born on the 6th of September 1973) is an American actress and performer. She was best known for her character Tiana as the Disney Princess who is one of the very first African American princess in The Princess and the Frog (2009). In 2011 she was honored as an official Disney Legend. The actress is also famous for her role in the lead role of Lorrell Robinson in the Academy Award-winning movie Dreamgirls (2006) as well as for her role as the character of LaVerne Jukebox Ganner on the Starz show Power. She has also been recognized for her theatre performances, including her leading role in Caroline or Change (2004) on Broadway for which she received the Tony Award was won for Best Actress in Musical.
