Kristin Fischer will join CNN as CNN's Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. As a Space and Defense Correspondent she covers all aspects of space from NASA to the newly formed Space Force as well as commercial space companies as well as space tourism. Being the child of 2 NASA astronauts Kristin has a background in the space industry and worked for the past five years covering the Trump and Biden Space policies of the administration as an White House Correspondent for FOX News. In that period she also reported on two impeachment trials for the president, the 2020 presdiential campaign and two attempts by the administration to stop the coronavirus pandemic. The president of the time Donald Trump traveled to Afghanistan in a trip that was highly restricted. Prior to being hired by the channel in the year 2015, Kristin spent nearly a decade advancing through the local news channels including Grand Junction, Colorado; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Washington, D.C. where she won an Emmy Award as a one-man-band reporter for the Washington, D.C.'s CBS affiliate. Kristin made use of her experiences behind the lens to start Field Mouse Films. The company specialized in producing documentary-style films and was a favorite of corporate clients such as Uber, Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Journalism at Boston University. She lives with her husband and their two children in Washington, D.C., and she has a 3 year old daughter.
